BMA activity in response to Lord Darzi’s reviews of the NHS in England

The NHS Next Stage Review, ‘Our NHS, Our Future’, has now come to a close and Lord Darzi and the Department of Health have published the following reports: In addition, a consultation on a proposed NHS constitution has been launched.

The BMA has produced a position statement setting out our concerns over some aspects of the review process as a whole and the proposals made in the early stages of the review.

A BMA press release has been issued in relation to the findings of the final review report. A more detailed response to the recommendations made in the final report(s) will follow.

The BMA’s activity in relation to Lord Darzi’s reviews of the NHS is being coordinated by the BMA’s Health Policy and Economic Research Unit. For more information and/or to find out how you can get involved, contact info.hperu@bma.org.uk.
