The annual BMA Medical Book Competition, established in 1996, aims to encourage and reward excellence in medical publishing. Judging takes place in three stages and all entries are individually appraised by specialists and educators.
The BMA patient information award is part of the BMA medical book competition. The aim is to recognise and to encourage the development and dissemination of patient information which are accessible, evidence-based and well designed and which will support patients as active participants in decisions about their care.
