Update on clinical academic contract negotiations in England
7 November 2003
MASC negotiators have continued to meet with the Department of Health, the BDA and the UCEA in the clinical academic contract negotiations, and are continuing to take soundings from interested parties including the Council for the Heads of Medical Schools. Documentation is entering a final consultation stage and a final timetable for the academic ballot will be published as soon as it is available.
Professor Michael Rees, Chairman of MASC, says “As we approach the final stages in the negotiations for a new clinical academic contract it is vitally important that academics begin filling out the diary card which has been sent to the by the BMA as this will prove a key tool in academic job planning negotiations if the ballot result is positive.”
